Fortify Review: Check Which App You Found
The established program offers useful structure. A near-identical app name makes the first decision surprisingly important.
A Fortify review needs one warning before anything else: there are two different iPhone apps using almost the same name.
Verdict: the established Fortify by Impact Collective is a structured recovery program with lessons, tracking, community, and optional coaching. It is not primarily a porn blocker.
It can help if you want guided work and will return daily. At up to $12 monthly, $89.99 yearly, or $199.99 for lifetime access on the US App Store, I would test the free layer first.
First, check the developer
The original product is Fortify – Find Freedom on iPhone and Fortify – Quit Porn For Good on Android. Its developer is Impact Collective.
A separate iPhone app called Fortify: Quit Porn Addiction is sold by nam tran. It offers an AI coach, streaks, journaling, community, and a panic button. It is not the Impact Collective program.
The names are close enough to cause a wrong purchase. Check the seller before subscribing.
What the original Fortify does well
Fortify is stronger as a curriculum than as a lock. It combines an assessment, guided “Journeys,” challenges, progress analytics, goals, community, allies, and AI coaching. The design tries to turn recovery into small daily actions instead of one long streak.
Adoption is real: Apple shows 4.7 from about 3,200 ratings, while Google Play shows 3.7 from about 3,640 reviews and more than 100,000 downloads. Ratings show use and sentiment, not a verified quit rate.
Where I would hesitate
Fortify’s Android listing was last updated on August 29, 2025. Recent store data should matter if Android is your main device.
Public Android reviews repeatedly mention login trouble and difficulty adding an Ally. Other reviews value the lessons but dislike useful material moving behind Premium. These are reports, not proof that every user will hit the same bugs.
Privacy deserves attention because recovery data is sensitive. Apple says data linked to you may include health information, purchases, contact details, user content, identifiers, and sensitive information. Google Play says the app may share personal information and device identifiers with third parties. Read the current labels before adding detailed journal entries.
Is Fortify worth it?
Yes, if you want education, reflection, tracking, and a recovery community in one place. Start free, complete enough material to judge your actual usage, then choose the shortest paid term.
No, if your main need is blocking across devices. Fortify describes itself as more than a filter, but that also means it is not a replacement for a tested network-level barrier. See our guide to the best porn blockers if access control is the priority.
Common questions
Is Fortify free?
It is free to download. Premium access uses in-app purchases; the US App Store currently lists monthly, annual, and lifetime options.
Does Fortify block porn?
The established Fortify focuses on lessons, tracking, community, and support. Do not buy it assuming it is a hard-to-bypass blocker.
Which Fortify app is the original?
Look for Impact Collective as the developer. The similarly named app sold by nam tran is a separate product.
