HardStop Porn Blocker Review: Read the Removal Rule
The delayed-removal model is serious. Test every device before choosing a long wait.
A HardStop porn blocker review should begin with what makes it different: removal is delayed after you ask for it.
That friction can outlast an urge. It also deserves careful testing before you choose a long delay.
Verdict: HardStop has a serious lock model and unusually clear terms. Use the free week on every device before committing.
How the HardStop app locks removal
On iPhone and iPad, HardStop uses device supervision and holds the profile password. Mac and Windows add network filtering plus a background enforcer.
Android is still beta. Setup requires a computer, a USB cable and temporarily removing accounts before the phone enters managed mode.
The default removal delay is 72 hours. You can choose three to 365 days, then confirm again before credentials arrive.
Read the price and refund terms
HardStop currently costs $30 every four weeks or $180 yearly after a seven-day trial. Both plans cover unlimited household devices.
There is no general money-back guarantee. Its “zero access” promise first gives HardStop five business days to fix a verified filtering failure.
Privacy is better explained than most
The policy says browsing history and query logs are not collected. NextDNS processes filtering traffic with activity logging disabled.
HardStop still holds account, device and block configuration data. Its website uses Google and Meta measurement cookies when you consent.
Test the free week hard
Try every browser and private mode. Test a VPN, an app that routes your traffic through another server, plus Reddit, X and one work-critical site.
Request removal once while the seven-day grace period still waives the delay.
Only then choose a longer lock. If you need a lighter barrier, compare the options in our porn blocker guide.
