How to block porn on Instagram: start with Less

For adult accounts, Instagram's current Android and iPhone instructions are:¹

1. Open your profile and tap the menu in the upper right.
2. Open Content preferences, then Sensitive content.
3. Select Less and tap Confirm.

Instagram says this can reduce sexually suggestive recommendations. Its rules separately prohibit adult nudity and sexual activity, but prohibited content can still reach you.

Change what the feed learns from

On an unwanted suggested post, open the three-dot menu and choose Not interested. Review your following list and unfollow accounts you no longer want.²

If recommendations remain off track, look under content preferences for Reset suggested content. Read the confirmation screens before completing the reset.

Meta says this resets recommendations across Explore, Reels and Feed. Suggestions then personalize again based on your interactions.
