How to Block Pornhub: Make the Block Hard to Undo

You want to block Pornhub, not spend an hour building the perfect filter.

The first part takes about a minute. The important part is deciding who can undo it later.

To block Pornhub, add the whole domain to a device or network restriction, test every browser, then move the password out of your own hands.

That last step is what turns a setting into a real barrier.

Block the domain, not one page

A copied video URL blocks one page. The home page, search pages, and every other path can still open.

Add pornhub.com as a domain. If your tool asks for full addresses, add both https://pornhub.com and https://www.pornhub.com.

Then open a private window and test the address directly. Do not assume the saved rule worked.

How to block Pornhub on iPhone or iPad

1. Open Settings, then Screen Time.
2. Open Content & Privacy Restrictions and turn it on.
3. Tap App Store, Media, Web & Games, then Web Content.
4. Select Limit Adult Websites.
5. Under Never Allow, add the Pornhub addresses.
6. Set a Screen Time passcode you will not keep.

Apple places this control above Safari, so it is more useful than a browser add-on. Still test any other installed browser.

How to block it on Android or Chromebook

For a supervised child account, Google Family Link can try to block explicit sites and can block a specific domain.

1. Open Family Link on the parent device.
2. Select the child, then Controls.
3. Open Google Chrome and Web.
4. Choose Try to block explicit sites.
5. Open Manage sites and add the domain under Blocked sites.

Family Link disables Incognito for the supervised account. Google also warns that filtering is not perfect.

For your own adult account, Family Link is the wrong shape. Put the rule at the Android device or home-network layer instead. The Android walkthrough covers both routes.

On Windows or Mac, close the browser escape

Microsoft Family Safety can block a specific website for a family member. Its web filter currently depends on Edge and a signed-in Microsoft account.

That means another browser is an escape unless it is also restricted. Our Windows guide handles that wider setup.

On a Mac, open System Settings, Screen Time, Content & Privacy, then App Store, Media, Web & Games. Under Safari, choose Limit Adult Websites and add the domain to the restricted list.

If the computer has more than one browser, a Wi-Fi-level block is cleaner. The same domain rule then covers every browser on that network.

Run the bypass test now

1. Try the domain in your normal browser.
2. Try it in private browsing.
3. Try another installed browser.
4. Turn off Wi-Fi and test mobile data.
5. Try changing or removing the restriction.

Every successful bypass tells you which layer is missing. A router rule cannot follow a phone onto cellular data. A browser rule cannot stop another browser.

The strongest practical setup has two layers: one on the device and one on the home network.

Then another person keeps the passcode. If you are doing this alone, store it somewhere that creates a real delay instead of keeping it in your password manager.
