Pornhub Addiction: How to Break the Loop
Treat Pornhub as a repeatable route, not a test of character.
If Pornhub is where the loop happens, deleting your history will not change the loop.
Treat Pornhub as a route your habit knows by heart. Close that route, then put a consequence behind reopening it.
“Pornhub addiction” is not a separate clinical diagnosis. The name is still useful if it points to a repeated pattern: you decide to stop, return anyway, and lose time, sleep, focus, or trust.
The important test is not how often you visit. It is whether control keeps slipping and the behavior continues despite real harm.
Make Pornhub harder to reach
Do the boring work while your head is clear:
- Block the whole domain on every phone and computer you use.
- Remove bookmarks, saved logins, downloads, and lead-in accounts.
- Test the block in private browsing and on mobile data.
- Move the password or removal path out of easy reach.
Our Pornhub blocking guide has the device steps. A block creates a pause. It does not decide what you do with that pause.
Research on self-control suggests that changing the situation early can work better than waiting to fight a fully developed impulse. Put distance between the cue and the site before tonight.
Give the route a real consequence
X Reset uses a DNS profile on each device to detect visits to known adult sites across browsers. It does not block Pornhub. That is deliberate: the blocker adds friction, while X Reset makes breaking your own rule cost something.
You choose a pact charge from $1 to $5. A clean day costs $0. A detected relapse is charged once for that day, not once per page or visit.
Install both layers on every real route. If the laptop is protected but the phone sleeps beside you, the loop still has an exit.
Replace the first move
Write one response before the cue arrives:
“If I reach for Pornhub after 11 p.m., I will put the phone in the kitchen, leave the room, and message ___.”
Keep the replacement physical and immediate. Do not ask a tired brain to invent a better life at midnight.
Then run the setup for 30 days. If you slip, close the site, record the route, and restart immediately. One visit does not need to become the whole night.
For the complete setup, use the short X Reset guide to quitting pornography.
